Leadership, Volunteering, and DEI

  • Hyatt Regency Phoenix 122 North 2nd Street Phoenix, AZ, 85004 United States (map)

Please join our founder and CEO, Dr. Matthew C. Whitaker, at the National Exchange Club’s 105th Convention in Phoenix, for his interactive discussion on “Leadership, Volunteering, and DEI.” Nada Johnson argues “most nonprofit organizations serve clients from vulnerable communities [that] are more likely to be racialized clients who experience complex challenges and issues related to racism, poverty, mental health, the criminal justice system, and domestic violence. It is imperative that volunteer leaders” practice cultural humility, especially if they are not “reflective of these populations served.” This training will help volunteer coordinators, and volunteers, serve the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) disabled, elderly, formerly incarcerated, immigrant, unemployed, and veteran communities, with more awareness, empathy, solutions and bridgebuilding tools and practices..
